The Skymap uses the uLocate's whereTM platform for access to GPS functionality, and an interactive Skymap program to produce the current sky. On the main page, users select a direction ("azimuth"), and a horizon view of the sky appears on the phone's screen. The celestial map can be rotated in 45-degree increments; the field of view itself is what an observer typically sees, about 45 degrees. A night vision option preserves the night-adjustment of the users' eyes.
